Fun Eggs!

I love this recipe! It comes from my friend Emily, here in Utah. Thank you Emily!!!

The Recipe for Fun Eggs!

Preheat the oven at 350
8 Eggs
1/2 Cup of 1/2 & 1/2
Pinch of Salt
Pour egg mixture into greased muffin tin.
Add two tablespoons of any mixture you would like. Ham, cheese, onions, peppers, etc
Cook for 20-25 minutes.

They're best if you eat them with your fingers. :)

Now that is delicious!

I am sick of dieting. The endless battle with myself has gotten so old and tiring.

Asking myself, "What can I eat today?" Then telling myself, "Oh, I ate too many carrots with Ranch yesterday so I should probably avoid salad dressing at all cost today."

Counting calories, watching the scale go down too slowly or up too quickly, being disappointed in myself for eating a slice of pizza after 7:00 in the evening and then chastising myself for it. "Molly, your whole day of eating perfectly has been ruined. Bad Molly."

This is no way to live. I love food, I love it. I don't want to live my life avoiding delicious foods because of a diet or someone on TV tells me to.

So, I have a few ideas I want to share that is soooo not what we're taught in our society, but super refreshing and helpful.

I've started working with a nutritionist and do you know what she told me? Eat when I'm hungry. If I have a craving....satisfy it. My jaw dropped. Can I do that? Why was this such a shock to me?

Well, the shock comes because for years and years I had to tell myself no. If I wanted to lose weight, I had avoid the good stuff. But, uh oh, here's the result of that choice....after a few days of that, when things got super stressful, and they always do, I eventually ate whatever I could find. Then of course the repercussions hit. Guilt. Failure. Disappointment. "Well, I'll start again on Monday."

This is ludicrous. I shouldn't feel like a prisoner in my own body.

So I took this delicious advice from my dear friend and nutritionist and low and behold, I felt free. I didn't need to binge because nothing was forbidden. This amazing feeling results in eating less. Isn't that interesting?

As a child we never bought Oreos. Never. If we did, they were gone in a day. I won't even tempt myself to figure out the calories in a whole row of Oreos. Well, what would happen if I allowed myself to buy Oreos any time I wanted? Ta da, I'll know they are in my cupboard when I have a craving.
I won't need to eat 12, because I'm not depriving myself.

How refreshing!

So, this part of my blog....it'll be my column....is dedicated to all the women out there that need to feel free to eat. Free to eat a piece of cake at a wedding, free to eat carbs (because they are good for us), free to enjoy Ranch with carrots, free from feeling guilt.

I can love food, enjoy it, and still lose weight.

Now that is a delicious thought!

A lot of my thoughts will come from what I'm learning and also from a book called, "Intuitive Eating."

Attention Chefs!!

I'll admit it, I have become addicted to The Food Network! I just love watching these amazing chefs stirring, cutting, chopping, whisking, and plating delicious food!

Then my husband gave me a great idea! "Start a blog of all your favorite recipes!" Hmmm, not a bad idea! I realized I didn't have to be famous to share my favorite home cooked meals with the world!

So, each week I am going to post a video of me cooking a meal I love!! I'll also post the recipe for you to try it in your home.

I don't want it to end there....share your favorite meals with me too!
